Terms of Use for Accenty

Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") before using Accenty ("the app"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

Accenty is an AI-assisted English pronunciation practice app. You read English sentences aloud and the app returns feedback on your accent and pronunciation. The feedback is generated by automated AI models and is provided for learning and practice purposes only. It may not be perfectly accurate and should not be relied on as a professional language assessment or certification.

2. Acceptable use

You agree to use Accenty only for lawful, personal, non-commercial learning. You agree not to:

• reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code or models;
• use the app to submit unlawful, abusive, or infringing audio content;
• interfere with, overload, or abuse the app's backend services;
• resell or redistribute the app or its output as your own service.

3. Microphone and recordings

The app needs microphone access to record your reading. How your audio is handled is described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the content you record and confirm you have the right to record it.

4. Subscriptions and purchases

If paid features are offered, pricing and terms are shown at the point of purchase and billed through the App Store or Google Play. Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Purchases are subject to the applicable store's terms.

5. Intellectual property

The app, its design, its pronunciation reference content, and its trademarks are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our branding or content except the limited right to use the app as intended.

6. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the AI feedback is accurate, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that it is fit for any particular purpose such as exam preparation.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

8. Changes and termination

We may update the app and these Terms from time to time. We may suspend or discontinue the service at any time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
